Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the booking procedure and boat hire of any vessel booked through or belonging to, Thames Party Boats Ltd. Including the purchase of single or group tickets to any of Thames Party Boats Ltd events.

The term ‘in writing’ means email and first-class mail and e-mail.

Once ‘the hirer’ or ‘purchaser’ has completed and returned the booking form or purchased a boat party ticket from us, Thames Party Boats Ltd will assume that you have read and agree to the terms and conditions set out in this document.

Private Hire

Provisional bookings will be held for 5 working days and must be agreed with Thames Party Boats staff, after which the date will automatically be cancelled without notice. No booking will be confirmed from Thames Party Boats Ltd without a signed and completed booking form AND minimum £300 non-refundable deposit within 5 days. All Booking forms must be signed by a person over the age of 21.

Any person named on the booking form as an organiser shall be considered ‘the hirer’ and shall be bound by these Terms and Conditions and shall be liable for all charges made by the company. Where two or more persons are named, they shall each be considered the Hirer and shall be jointly and severally liable under these conditions. We will only discuss the booking with the person named on the booking form.

All bookings will be confirmed by Thames Party Boats Ltd in writing. Any queries you have regarding your booking must be brought to the attention of Thames Party Boats Ltd as soon as possible.

Two weeks prior to the date of the event, the minimum numbers attending should be notified to Thames Party Boats Ltd.

Our vessel is set up with tables and chairs on the lower deck, should you wish for any changed to be made to this layout then please contact us as soon as possible to discuss and with at least 2 weeks’ notice. There may be a charge for any changes requested to the layout of the vessel.

We will require at least 4 weeks’ written notice should ‘the hirer’ wish to cancel their booking with Thames Party Boats Ltd. The booking deposit will not be returned, and you may incur any additional charges that Thames Party Boats Ltd has already made on your behalf to a third-party service, such as entertainment, catering or any other service.

A quote/invoice will be sent along with your confirmation booking, which will show a breakdown of the charges applied to your event.

All invoices are payable in full 14 Working days before the function.

Non-payment by this time will result in the cancellation of your booking and you will be required to pay any catering or entertainment charges that Thames Party Boats Ltd have incurred as a result of your non-payment as well as any other charges incurred.

The hirer will also be charged 25% of the remaining booking costs if the booking is cancelled within 14 days of the departure date.

Any additional charges incurred during the function must be settled at the end of the function by card or cash. Cheques are not accepted at this time.

In the event of any accounts not being settled by the end of the function Thames Party Boats Ltd will invoice for the amount outstanding plus a 10% administration charge.

Bar/Bar Staff

The hire of the vessel includes the cost of the bar staff.

It is illegal for us to serve alcohol whilst alongside a pier and if you arrange for the boat to remain at a pier for any length of time during a function then the bars will be closed. It is the organiser’s responsibility to ensure that their guests understand this.

On functions where more than 10% of guests will not be drinking alcohol, Thames Party Boats Ltd should be notified in advance of the booking as a surcharge may apply.

An account bar can be arranged however it will need to be paid in full and in advance, this charge will be added to your invoice and therefore payment will be required 14 days prior to your departure.

Set Up

We will endeavour to allow 1-hour set up time at Festival Pier before a function for organisers to set up and decorate, however this cannot always be guaranteed. Any clients requiring extra set up time are requested to book additional hours hire time.

Any additional time booked will be charged at the normal hourly rate.

Passengers permitted on board during the set-up time are restricted to 5 people actually helping to set up. Any other passengers may be asked to disembark until the boat is ready for boarding.

Thames Party Boats Ltd reserves the right to conduct viewings, take deliveries, clean and set up the vessel during this time.

General Hire

We regret the following are not permitted on board under any circumstances:

Party poppers, Silly string, Confetti or table confetti. Dry ice or Bubble machines.

Lit candles, sparklers, fireworks or similar.

If passenger numbers fall below stated number a surcharge may be applied.

Catering

Clients using Thames Party Boats Ltd caterers must order food for everyone on board.

Clients may use their own caterers for a surcharge. This surcharge will apply to everyone on board regardless of whether or not they eat anything. The surcharge does not cover any beverages!

A deposit will also be required if you wish to bring a cake onboard.

Surcharge only covers the waste disposal and does not include use of any utensils, crockery, cutlery or linen.

Glasses

All drinks from the bar are served in plastic glasses regardless of type or quantity of drink purchased. Soft drinks, spirits and mixers, half pint of lager, wine and champagne are served in half pint plastic tumblers*. Pints of lager are served in plastic pint glasses.

*champagne flutes are available for an extra charge and must be purchased in advance.

Reception Drinks

Orders from our reception drinks list will be pre poured and available on tables for passengers to help themselves when boarding.

Some clients wish to save money by purchasing in advance wine or champagne by the bottle. We will require at least 2 weeks’ notice. In this case we will provide the bottles and plastic glasses and the client is responsible for pouring and serving, as you would do if you bought a bottle from the bar.

Corkage

Unfortunately, clients are not permitted to bring any of their own beverages on board, however can purchase bottles of champagne, sparkling wine, red, white and rose wine prior to your function. We do have special discounts for 10 or more bottles if booked before function, please ask one of our sales team for more information and prices. If you pre order bottles in advance, you will be responsible for your own pouring and serving.

Entertainment

Clients wishing to provide their own entertainment on board may do so for a small surcharge. All own equipment brought on board from the hirer or organiser will need a valid Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) certificate. This must be shown to the Captain onboard before the equipment can be set up. Should there be no proof, then the hirer will be required to hire Thames Party Boats Ltd equipment and the relevant charge must be paid at the time. Unless alternative equipment can be obtained.

Noise limiters are fitted on all our vessels in order to comply with current noise regulations and these are under the Captains control at all times.

A £250 damage deposit MUST be paid whether you bring your own equipment or hire our entertainment equipment. ANY damage to our equipment/vessel will result in the immediate loss of this deposit.

The Company (Thames Party Boats Ltd)

Reserve the right to substitute another Vessel and, if necessary, for reasons beyond their control, to cancel the said party, but will not be liable for any expenses incurred by the hirers caused by such substitution or cancellation.

Captains Control of the Vessel

During Hire, the Vessel will remain under complete control of the captain and/or the crew. If for weather, tidal or other reasons, the captain considers it necessary to vary the scheduled trip; his orders will be accepted by the hirer.

Should the hirer have any cause for complaint, he/she must notify the captain before termination of the event and if need be should be followed up the next working day via email or call. Complaints not notified will not be accepted after the function.

Liability of the owners

The owners will not be liable for any Accident, Injury, Loss, Damage or Delay to person embarked, or their possessions to any extent either during embarkation or disembarkation whether this be by negligence of their employees or otherwise.

Damage or Loss

Hirers are liable for any Loss and Damage to the vessel’s equipment or fixture and fittings any damage caused by them or persons in their party. Before embarkation of vessel the organiser is invited to inspect the vessel.

Embarkation

The vessel will be ready for boarding 15 minutes before the requested embarkation time and passengers will not be permitted to board before this time, regardless of the weather conditions. Organisers are requested to pass this information to their party to ensure they arrive at the correct time.

The vessel will leave the pier at the requested time and anyone not on board will be left behind Thames Party Boats Ltd will not be responsible for late passengers missing the function.

Security

Security is decided at the discretion of Thames Party Boats. If you do not agree to have security on your event, we may refuse to accept your booking. Security are arranged for the safety everyone onboard. The directors decision over security is final.

Parties for those 21 years of age and younger

Depending on the vessel you hire, a minimum of 2 security will be required for the event. For bookings of 16 years or younger, the party must finish before 10pm

Discounts

Any discount or promotional offer can only be used against the charge of the boat hire. All other costs will be charged at the standard rate plus VAT if applicable.
